With all of the popularity of juicing these days, it is important to know the reasons to juice instead of blend and vise versa.
When you juice:
All of the fiber from the fruits and vegetables that you include is lost. All that remains is a pure, nutrient-rich liquid. Juicing allows the body to absorb a much higher amount of nutrients, and gives the digestive system a rest.
When you blend:
All of the fiber remains, but is still easier to digest because the fruits and veggies have been pulverized. The release of sugars and nutrients into the bloodstream is slower due to the fiber. You feel fuller longer, and don't have as high of a blood-sugar level spike.

TO JUICE OR TO BLEND? Which is right for you??
In my opinion, it is important to determine the reason behind your desire. Do you want to cleanse your body? Do you want to lose weight? Do you want to incorporate more vegetables into you diet? Do you want to fuel your day?
If you are already healthy, at the weight that you want, and are looking a quick meal replacement to fuel your day, I recommend blending. Fiber is so important to the body and it helps maintain your blood-sugar levels. Smoothies are also thicker than juice. They easily fuel you until your next meal because you feel full, and are a great supplement to athletes.
If you are want to detoxify your body, are sick and looking for a fast nutrient boost, and need to loose weight, I recommend juicing. Because juicing allows your digestive system to rest, all of the remaining energy can go to other bodily processes such as cell repair, cell growth, and toxin elimination. I believe that juicing is also a great supplement to a healthy diet, but because of the high amounts of sugar in fruit juices, I suggest juicing with mainly vegetables.
