GIVING BACK

The Winston Churchill quote, "We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give." is such an inspiration. It rings true in my life in so many ways, and I have found that I am happiest when I am helping others.

I have listed some of my favorite Charities below. They have all been chosen because they help our environment, are transparent in their research and funding, and spend at least 80% of their donated money to their cause itself. I believe that they are all doing great things to make our Planet better, and inspire me to continue in my green mission.

MY FAVORITE CHARITES

The Wild Bird Fund is a state and federally licensed 501(c)(3) that rehabilitates over 3000 sick, injured or orphaned wildlife and releases them back to the wilds of New York City. Rehabilitation includes radiographs, diagnostic testing, surgery, medication, bandaging, splinting, physical therapy, feeding and sheltering. All native and migratory birds are treated, from the house sparrows to rarities such as Virginia rails and Great-horned owls. This critical work is accomplished through private donations and mostly volunteer labor.

Our mission is to provide medical care and rehabilitation to native and passing migrant wildlife so that they can be released back into the wild.

100 For All is a NY based non profit that is taking a refreshingly fun approach to giving back to others. 100 For All partners with a wide array of clients to raise awareness and help put an end to the worlds water crisis. They sell their flagship product 100 Luxury Water to high end clientele with 100% of the proceeds going to their partners abroad. With the aid of some amazing partnerships we are able to build water wells, provide different filtration methods, and bring awareness to sanitation practices to help improve the quality of life to those who need it most.

CENTER BIODIVERSITY_Logo_Giving Back_Model4greenliving
At the Center for Biological Diversity, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction. We do so through science, law and creative media, with a focus on protecting the lands, waters and climate that species need to survive.

We want those who come after us to inherit a world where the wild is still alive.

For more than 25 years, Conservation International has been protecting nature for the benefit of everyone on Earth.

But we’re not a run-of-the-mill environmental organization. We’re more like a human organization. We know that human beings are totally dependent on nature — and that  when we work to save nature, we’re really working to save ourselves. CI is  more than 1,000 people in 30+ countries helping to build a healthier, more prosperous and more productive planet, for you and for everyone.

Nature doesn’t need people. People need nature. Our food, our water, our health, our jobs — they all rely on the health of the planet’s ecosystems.

We are taking more from nature than nature can give. We’re weakening the Earth’s ability to provide the clean air, fresh water and food we depend on… We can end this crisis. But we need big ideas and even bigger solutions.

Conservation International works at every level, from remote villages to the offices of presidents and CEOs, to find these solutions. Our work is moving entire societies toward a healthier, more sustainable development path — so that we don’t use up today what we’re going to need tomorrow.
