Yoga Around the World

Yoga is such a wonderful tool to strengthen, lengthen, and tone the body. It also provides stillness and inner peace via meditation. I have been incorporating yoga into my exercise routine for the past 6 years and truly believe that, along with meditation, it is a key part of a healthy lifestyle.

Each of these studios I have personally attended, at the very minimum for 3 weeks at a time. I can attest to the professionalism and quality of service that they all provide firsthand, and feel confident suggesting them to you all. If you are in any of these cities and looking for a studio, either as a novice or an experienced practicer, I encourage you to give them a try!

Jivamukti Yoga School is one of the largest and oldest yoga centers in the U.S. The school’s interior incorporates eco-friendly materials, and the roomy classrooms provide a sublime setting for practices designed to lead one to enlightenment. The entire school was designed with compassion in mind—compassion for all beings and for the planet.

Jivamukti is more than an eco friendly yoga studio and vegan café—it’s about community and awakening. In addition to a busy schedule of yoga, meditation and Sanskrit classes, Jivamukti offers educational events to introduce yoga students to new voices and ideas and broaden the community. The school also regularly hosts fund-raising benefits for animal, environmental, and human rights causes.
